Go Yellow Day

Y2 Parents
Mary Ann Evans Hospice
Friday 23rd May 2008

The children in year 2 have a fun day planned for Friday 23rd May. As a theme, we have linked it to the Mary Ann Evans Hospice ‘Yellow’ day.  Their emblem is a sunflower which reflects the ‘growing things’ part of our topic.
If you would like to contribute towards the fundraising for the hospice, please send a donation, (minimum 20p), and then your child can bring in a toy or similar item, with yellow on, to join the fun on the day.

May 2008 Newsletter

Kinetic Theatre for Science
We have arranged for the Kinetic Theatre for Science to come into school on Wednesday 11th June who will be giving a performance of ‘The Bunsen Towers Mystery’ to the whole school.   The production is a ‘whodunnit’ on the subject of materials and their uses, and is a chance for children to see live theatre. It would be most appreciated if parents could donate £1 per child towards the cost of the production – the balance will be met from school funds.

Summer school uniform
Dresses for the summer should be blue and white stripes or checks.  Shorts must be plain navy/dark grey.  Sandals must be flat, and securely attached to the foot.  Please ensure that all items of uniform are named – it makes the tracing of lost property so much easier.

Sun safety
Children are encouraged to wear sunhats, which both shield their eyes and protect their heads from the sun.  On hot days parents are advised to put sun cream on before the children come to school. The children will be encouraged to stay in the shade during the hottest part of the day.

Half Term Break – Reminder
School closes on Friday 23rd May 2008 at 3.00 p.m.
(After school will run as normal until 4.00p.m).

School re-opens on Tuesday 3rd June 2008 at 8.50 a.m.
(Monday 2nd June is a training day).

Have a good break.
