Water Aid

As part of our harvest theme this year we have been looking at how individuals, working together, can make a difference.

The children in each class have chosen the activities they would like to do in order to raise funds for water aid.  Classes R1, R2, R3 and 1V did jobs at home to earn money; 1WB completed laps of a fun obstacle course.  Class 1K held an afternoon tea party for their parents and grandparents to attend, and 2P, 2R and 2J ran 25 laps of the playground.

Altogether we raised £454.93.

Harvest Week

This week children in all classes have been learning about different types of food.
YR children made bread, the Y1 classes made soup (Leek and Potato, Carrot and Coriander or Parsnip), and the Y2 classes made fruit crumble or fruit salad.
On Thursday we held our harvest assembly where each class shared what that had learned with the rest of school.

Museum and Library Visit

This week year 1 and 2 children have visited the Nuneaton Museum and Art Gallery and Nuneaton Library.
At the museum we got to dress as Victorian children, while we learned about life in Victorian times and about George Eliot. We also got so see lots of Victorian household items.
At the library we learned more about George Eliot and saw lots of photographs that show how Nuneaton has changed since George Eliot’s time. We also found out about how the library works and looked for our favourite books.
