Year 1 and Year 2 children are learning about old toys. This week we were visited by some people who brought lots of old toys into school. The children had a chance to play parlour games such as The Minister’s Cat and Patrick And The Railway as well as playing with old toys like Jacob’s Ladder, Whip and Top, Hoop and Stick, Bagatelle and Shove Ha’penny.
Reception children have been celebrating Chinese New Year. They have learnt some dances including a Chinese Lion Dance, and dances with fans and umbrellas. They also tried eating Chinese food using chopsticks. The children wore red as it represents good luck in China.
For their assembly Class R1 told us what they have been learning about winter. They showed us words they have found that describe winter. Sang a song about snowmen, showed us some snowmen they have made and sang a Penguin song.
