We learned about how guide dogs are trained, and then got to try different tasks while wearing blindfolds to find out how difficult it can be for blind people to do some things.

Class 2R Assembly

Class 2R’s assembly was about Remembrance.  The children have made poppies and told us about the significance of the poppy.  Some of the children shared the stories of the great-grandfathers who fought and died in World War 1.  They ended the assembly by singing some WW1 favourites; It’s A Long Way To Tipperary and Pack Up Your Troubles.

Harvest Week

This week has been harvest week. All week children have been doing jobs at home to earn money which each class has collected in wellington boots.
Each class has also chosen a country to find out about and to make and try food associated with that country.
On Friday it was wear your wellies to school day, and our harvest assembly. We filled a giant welly with all the coins we collected; over £400, which we will be donating to Water Aid.
In the assembly each class told us about their chosen country and food, we then all joined in with a poem about each country, each class doing their own verse and everyone joining in with chorus.
